Field Recording @ Myatt’s Fields, 2015
Stitched canvas panels, soldered steel frame, steel wire, copper wire, audio amplifier, neodymium magnet, piezo transducer, audio recorder.
A field recording session was held at Myatt’s Fields Park, where instructions were given out to the public to record their surroundings. The planar surface was created by stitching canvas panels together, with a copper wire structure embedded onto it. This was then connected to an audio amplifier, activating the vibrational qualities of sound with a magnet.
The ‘speaker’ played a continuous loop of the recordings that were contributed by the public in response to my instructions. All of the recordings were made with a piezo transducer mic, allowing a sensoral response to the immediate environment.
